Storybrooke News... sneak peeks, books and conventions, oh my! (Updated)

Hello fellow oncers!

I have been remiss in my blogging duties (does anyone even read this thing?).

While I catch up (today, I swear, really!) I thought I would pass along some interesting news and information gleaned during my usual Once Upon a Time news trolling expeditions.

Let's peek behind the curtain...



Here's some Once Upon a Time fun, in bulleted format for you dear readers:

• Sneak Peek for this Sunday's Episode "Selfless, Brave and True"

  Abc had been fairly generous with sneak peaks for the last two episodes, but this has been the only one we've found so far, and Sunday is two days away!  Is there a specific reason for this? Nothing official so far, but if you find anything, let us know.

• A Once Upon a Time novelization is on the horizon, with the first title "Reawakened" releasing as e-book on April 27th, and then in paperback a week later.

While this novel covers the first episode ("Welcome to Storybrooke"), it presents the events in a slightly different light, alternating between Mary Marget and Emma's point of view. It is advertised that this novel will bring new information and insight about our beloved town and it's inhabitants to light.

Curious? ABC just announced (seriously, like 5 minutes ago) a sneak peek of the first chapter of the novel available online. Check here for details: Reawakened Chaper 1 sneek peak

One wonders what the if this is a way for abc to generate more viewers for the show, or, if the show has shown enough of a fan base that this aimed at existing die-hard fans.

• Conventions! Looks like there will be a Once Upon a Time convention being hosted here in my very own city of Orlando, Florida.
  
  

The "EnchantaCon" convention will take place in November, from Nov 22 - 24th, 2013

So far, it looks like a few of the cast from the show will be attending the convention, with some ticket packages offering more one -on -one time. So far, the con has the following actors definitely attending:

• David Anders (Dr. Whale/Dr. Frankenstein
• Michael Coleman (Happy)
• Faustino DiBauda(Sleepy)

Although there have been ticket packages announced, there are no prices yet.

From what I'm seeing on Twitter, it looks like Oncers all over are gearing up to attend, potentially including the staff of the Once Upon a Fan website.

As more information about this convention becomes available, I'll make posts here as well. :)

• Today's last tidbit... it looks like after this week's episode "Selfless, Brave and True", the show will be going on a 3-week hiatus....of sorts. There will still be OUAT episodes showing during those three Sunday's, but they will be re-runs of previous episodes... kind of. ;)
  ABC is announcing that the re-run episodes will actually be "enhanced episodes" featuring on-screen facts and backstory throughout the episode. We'll see enhanced versions of "Queen of Hearts", "The Miller's Daughter", and "The Price of Magic".
  
  Although I am a bit sad at the three week delay, it will be interesting to uncover new facts and information about these previous episodes. (The Miller's Daughter is my new favorite episode).
